| This raku
ceramic urn is truly a piece of art made by one of California's
leading ceramic artists. The piece is individually hand thrown.
The artist, formulates his own glazes. Raku
is an ancient ceramic art form originating in Japan. Pots are quickly
removed from the kiln when glowing red, approximately 1800 degrees.
They are immediately sealed in a can of leaves or paper where they
erupt into flame. The unique patterns of purple crackle in the glaze
result from the flame, smoke and rapid cooling. The work reflects
the unpredictable nature of the firing. You will love this unique
work of art to celebrate the life of your loved one. This urn can
be used as a companion urn. Each piece is
one of a kind and signed by the artist on the bottom.
