The
artist likes to emulate the craftsmanship of an earlier time. Her
pieces are thrown on the potter's wheel first, then carved and textured
into their final shape. Whitney explains her work, "My design
sense is primarily informed by my obsession with flowers and other
forms found in nature." She resides in Oakland, California
and perhaps that is the reason she fancies poppies (the poppy is
the official flower of California). Every time she tries to stock
these urns a customer comes into her studio and begs her for it
so each urn is made to order. Please allow 2-3 weeks of production
time for the piece. Since each piece is made to order, she has agreed
to personalize the urn on the bottom with the name of your loved
one, the date and her signature. This urn, given the two poppies,
is ideal for two people or a companion urn. Click
here for that option.
